Once thought of as a common problem of teenagers, acne is actually a common problem for people of all ages including young children and adults. And far from being just accepted as a passing phase of growing up, acne should be given due attention in seeking treatment to avoid subsequent acne scars as an unfortunate result of not seeking early treatment.

Although various forms of acne scar removal treatment is available, some scars may be too deep seated to be successfully removed which may affect self confidence adversely, leading to other psychological problems in life.

Acne is a disorder caused by hormonal action on sebaceous glands which are the oil glands of the skin. Even more distressing are the scars left behind by acne which are often permanent, affecting both the personal and professional life of those who suffer from it.

This often leads to a desperate search for acne scar treatment of which fortunately, a variety of treatments are available today. However care has to be taken in choosing which treatment to undergo as a person’s medical history, acne scar condition and even budget are among the factors which have to be taken into consideration.

If scars are not too severe and you would like to give natural remedies a try before seeking stronger acne scar treatments, there are many home remedies that are believed to be effective. Ingredients from fruits and vegetables are often found in skin care products and home remedies are used to achieve similar effects.

Among the recommended natural ingredients to use are lemon juice, tomatoes, cucumbers and even a mixture of sandalwood and rose water. Natural oils such as lavender, tea tree and rosehip seed oils are also beneficial for healing acne scars.

For faint scars, acne scar creams and lotions may be sufficient. These products contain skin lightening agents to help lighten acne scars to give the impression of a smooth even skin surface. Some contain skin renewal activators and biological enzymes that gently dissolve damaged or worn out cells and stimulate skin regeneration.

The next level of acne scar treatment is using chemical peels. There are several types of chemical peels with varying strengths. Superficial scars can be effectively treated with chemical peels that are commonly used to treat skin damaged by the sun and for irregular pigmentation. A special chemical is applied to the acne scar area and after several minutes, the peel is removed together with the damaged top layer of skin. Thus, a new top layer of skin cells is regenerated.

Some of the more intensive and expensive acne scar removal treatments include dermabrasion, laser treatment, collagen and steriod injections, and surgical procedures like autologous fat transfer and punch grafts. These often require multiple treatments and long maintenance procedures.

To avoid having to seek acne scar removal treatment, where the process is either expensive or tedious but very often both, consult your dermatologist at an early stage before the acne has a chance to cause deep-seated damage to skin. Corrected blemished skin will never be able to match the smoothness and appearance of natural, healthy skin.

4. Do a little research on how the formulation and content of these creams help cure the skin infection.

Acne also known about Pimples, and Zits. Acne is a common skin disease that causes pimples. Acne is worldwide problem. Acne occurs when the natural oils that the skin produces clogs the pores of the skin. Acne is not just a problem for teenagers, it can affect people from ages 10 through 40. Pimples form when hair follicles under your skin clog up. Most pimples form on the face, neck, back, chest and shoulders. Acne happens when oil (sebaceous) glands come to life around puberty stimulated by male hormones from the adrenal glands of both boys and girls. Oil is a natural substance which lubricates and protects the skin, and under certain circumstances, cells that are close to the surface block the openings of sebaceous glands and cause a buildup of oil underneath. There are many misconceptions and rumours about acne. Several factors are known to acne. Hormone changes, such as those during the teenage years and pregnancy, probably play a role. There are many myths about what causes acne. Chocolate and greasy foods are often blamed, but there is little evidence that foods have much effect on acne in most people. Heredity with the exception of very severe acne, most people do not have the problem exactly as their parents did. Almost everyone has some acne at some point in their life. Most cosmetic and skin care products are not pore-clogging (“comedogenic.”) Of the many available brands, those which are listed as “water-based” or “oil-free” are generally a better choice. Some medications may cause or worsen acne, such as those containing iodides, bromides, or oral or injected steroids (either the medically prescribed prednisone or the steroids bodybuilders or athletes take.).

Comedonal acne most often infects the forehead and the chin. Many teenagers get this type of acne. This acne might get worsen due to hormonal changes, humid weather and oily cosmetics such as sun-screens and petro-jelly based moisturizers. Cystic acne is often cause by the pinching or squeezing of small pus-filled acne. This causes the pus to burst deep into the skin tissue. This triggers a body mechanism which sends white blood cells to the infected site to fight off bacteria. This results in swelling, causes deep rooted inflammation, and this deep infection causes pain. So keep in mind to keep your hands off your acne-infected skin, otherwise you will be spreading the infection deeper and creating more trouble for yourself. One severe form of acne is acne conglobata . This acne affects the face, chest and back extensively. It is a severe form of nodular cystic acne vulgaris. It is characterized by a presence of multiple inflamed and non-inflamed nodules and scars. It is commonly found in men. Acne fulminans is a rare and very severe form of acne conglobata associated with systemic symptoms. It nearly always affects males.Infantile acne takes place in newborn babies, although not frequently. Sometimes it’s even present at the time of birth. It’s a mild form of acne and settles down in a few months. The reason is supposed to be fetal hormones, but sometimes excessive testosterone and follicle stimulating hormones are also found to be cause of infantile acne.

The skin is the largest organ of the body and it helps other organs with eliminating waste. One of the best acne treatments is a diet. Diet is a classic scapegoat for acne. the best natural acne treatments is diet which has many home remedies for acne in the foods that we eat. If you are unhealthy inside it will be reflected in your skin. bad diet is not a cause of acne. Regularly eating breads, cakes, chips and other staples of Western culture is likely to promote acne.Peanuts and peanut butter may provoke acne in some individuals.Eat as many vegetables as you wish, preferably organic. Ernie Carroll asked:

Acne is the skin curse of many people around the world; but there are now many treatments available which can help the condition so it is more bearable. A great deal of money is being spent researching the condition; the result of this effort is new, more effective, treatments are becoming available. There are a broad range of acne skin care products available: Preventative: Creams, lotions etc. to help cleanse and tone the skin. Those available at a drugstore or over-the-counter. Prescription: Prescribed medication for specific needs. Home Remedies: Self explanatory.

Acne Cure Remedies

Probably the largest part of the skin care market is products that are designed to clean and protect the skin from acne occurring, like skin cleansers. We should all use products like this to maintain our skin and prevent future problems from occurring.

There are acne skin care products that are more specialized in there approach and are formulated to reduce and limit the amount of oil in the pores of our skin. These types of products are reducing the chance of oil staying in the pores and aiding the growth of harmful bacteria which assists the formation of the skin condition.

This type of skin care treatment also includes those which exfoliate such as skin peels. These can be bought over the counter or on the internet. These work towards removing dead skin cells, reducing the possibility of pore-clogging and bacteria development.

Many other acne skin care products have become available over the counter and on the internet; they don’t usually require a prescription. Products that contain the chemical benzoyl peroxide and the naturally occurring salicylic acid are used in vanishing creams. They work by removing the excess oil from the skin and halt the growth of acne.

Acne Cure Remedies

It is preferable when you first start using this type of product to keep the concentration of it low, around 5.5 percent is best. You can always try a cleaner or cream containing alpha hydroxy acid if this doesn’t work. It might just be a case of trial and error, if nothing seems to work speak to your dermatologist for any advice or try a different acne skin care product.

The Causes of Acne in Adults

Russel Clark asked:

Adult acne is a real curse that is extremely hard to get rid of. As if I wasn’t plagued by enough acne as a teenager, I continue to get outbreaks well into my adult life, and I can’t seem to prevent them completely. I’ve tried dozens of different acne face washes, body washes, and other skin care products, and while they all seem to help I still get some nasty outbreaks now and then. Naturally, I’ve been very curious as to the causes of adult acne so that I may better understand how to get rid of it.

There are a lot of different possible causes of adult acne, which makes it all the harder to fight. While the actual cellular process that causes acne is clogged pores, usually by the action of bacteria, fighting bacteria on your skin is a hopeless and misdirected solution. First of all, every inch of our skin is covered by bacteria whether we like it or not. Secondly, we actually need the bacteria on our skin to be there so trying to get rid of them all isn’t the right approach. Therefore, vigorous scrubbing with antibacterial products isn’t going to help you and may actually just make things worse.

The causes of adult acne, as with any acne, may be largely due to bacteria, but the bacteria are merely responding to some kind of imbalance on our skin that has a deeper cause. When everything is functioning right, bacteria are in a sort of balance with our skin, and nothing gets clogged. So the real root causes of adult acne are something deeper than just bacteria. So far the two that make the most sense to me are stress and genetics.

Under periods of high stress, I am so much more prone to acne outbreaks that there is an obvious link between the two. Something about being stressed causes the balance on my skin to teeter enough for the bacteria to start clogging pores. There must be something my body produces under stressed conditions, which is then excreted through pores and taken up by bacteria. While I’m sort of theorizing here, there is a lot of clinical evidence to suggest a link between stress and adult acne.

There must also be a genetic component to the causes of adult acne simply because some people just don’t get it at all no matter how stressed they are, and others, like me, get massive outbreaks whenever we’re mildly stressed. Whatever the causes of adult acne may be, its just about impossible to ‘cure’.
